Tickets
Learned Place House Concerts are semi-public; music fans who will enjoy the concert setting are welcome. We usually list concerts on the WUNC Backporch Music website but otherwise do not advertise. The concert schedule is available on this website, and we also send periodic emails to those who choose to be on our email list. We request a contribution for each concert to help defray our costs for rentals and refreshments and most importantly to support the artists who perform here.
Attendance at Learned Place House Concerts requires an advance reservation confirmed by payment. This is essential, given the limited capacity. You can check on ticket availability by emailing Jim Roberts at info@learnedplacemusic.net or by calling 919-490-1558. Unless otherwise arranged, payment is due to confirm a reservation by mailing a check made out to Jim Roberts, 10 Learned Place, Durham, NC 27705. A reminder email sent about week before the concert will constitute your ticket to match up with our list at the door. Checks are cashed shortly before each performance. If requesting tickets for multiple performances, PLEASE send a separate check for each performance. We limit the number of reservations per request to four for most concerts.
We are sometimes asked about children. Certainly young people who are interested in the musical traditions we are exploring are welcome to attend. However, because of the concert setting and focus on the music, this is not a good setting for “minding” a young one is who not interested in sitting and listening for 45 minutes to an hour at a time.
